Stairways Group after 8 years of manufacturing Door Sets and Door related products at its sites in Leamington Spa; Warwickshire will be relocating to new premises in Southam.
The recently announced news comes after the Group, who has manufacturing sites in Walsall, West Midlands and Welshpool, Powys, has secured a significant deal with a food processing company from the same trading estate. The deal includes the sale of both of the Groups units 3 & 30 at Leamington, and has been reported that the deal will enable the Group to settle all loans and outstanding charges against the company.
Stairways Group which is privately managed and has been in operation since 1989 will be relocating its Door Division to Southam, Warwickshire, which is 6.5 miles from the existing sites. The 24,000 sq. ft premises, that will become the Group’s Flag ship site, will be fitted with a dust extraction unit and wood burner which will heat the factory and the offices, from the timber waste, reducing the Groups carbon foot print as well as hosting a large show case area with demonstration facilities.
Joint Managing Director and owner of the group Neil Stevens said, ‘We are all very excited by the move, particularly as the last six months has presented a difficult set of trading circumstances for all within the industry. Work has commenced on the new unit and we are working very hard to ensure minimal disruption to our customers. We are performing to a tight dead line as we hope to be fully operational at Southam for June 09.’
